Listán Negro
Listán Negro is a grape variety originally from the heart of Spain. On their trips to the new world the Spanish brought the grapes to the United States where it became well known under the name Mission. Nowadays we will find the grape especially on the Canary Islands where the travellers made a short stop before crossing the ocean.
It is today considered one of the official grape varieties of the Canaries, especially on the Island Tenerife. In these conditions the Listan Negro grape produce wines with a high grade of alcohol but still with good acidity. The color is not very intense and because very often the wines are not filtered look a bit cloudy. In the nose we will find hints of the volcanic soils on which the grapes are planted but at the end the intense flavours of aromatic herbs and spices will stay in mind for quite some time. An absolute must to try!
